Imposition of Regulatory Duty on Import of Certain new Items

Federal Government has made certain amendments in its notification No. SRO 568(I)/2014 dated 26.06.2014 through SRO 246(I)/2015 dated 27.03.2015. Following new items have been included in the list of goods which will be subject to regulatory duty. Rate of regulatory duty is also mentioned against each item:

1- Flat- rolled products of iron or non- alloy steel, of a width of 600 mm or more, hot- rolled, not clad, plated or coated falling under PCT heading 72.08 (RD 12.5%).

2-  Tubes, pipes and hollow profiles, of cast iron falling under PCT heading 73.03 (RD 12.5%).

3- Tubes, pipes and hollow profiles, seamless, of iron (other than cast iron) or steel falling under heading 73.04 (RD 12.5%).

4- Other tubes and pipes (for example, welded, riveted or similarly closed), having circular cross- sections, the external diameter of which exceeds 406.4 mm, of iron or steel falling under heading 73.05 (RD 15%).

5-Other tubes, pipes and hollow profiles (for example, open seam or welded, riveted or similarly closed), of iron or steel of heading 73.06 (RD 12.5%).


Following types of imports have been excluded from the purview of this notification. Regulatory duty will not be charged on such imports:

a) imports of HRC by manufacturers of CRC under Sr.No.41 of Notification No. SRO.565(I)/2006 dated 5 th June, 2006.

b) imports of galvanized steel tubes (PCT 7306.9000) and metals shells (PCT heading 7304.9000) under Sr.No.8 and 51 of Notification No. SRO.565(I)/2006 dated 5th June, 2006”.
