5% Regulatory Duty on Import of Certain Items

Vide SRO 568(I)/2014 dated 26.06.2014, regulatory duty at the rate of 5% on 282 items has been imposed. It may be recalled that most of these items were chargeable to customs duty at the rate of 30%. However since maximum tariff rate was reduced to 25%, these 282 items have been selected for total incidence of 30% tax i.e. 25% statutory duty plus 5% regulatory duty.
